Dear Fellow Trauma Nurse Coordinator:

Advocate Injury Institute (AI²) is pleased to announce our Third Annual Nursing Poster Presentation in conjunction with our 5th Annual Trauma Symposium: "Risky Business" December 11 and 12, 2008 at the Lombard Westin Hotel, Lombard, Illinois. We would like to invite you and the trauma nursing colleagues at your facility to enter our poster presentation.

This year we have updated our format so that more of the exiting initiatives that are taking place in the community can be shared without the stress of a formal competition. (See attached guidelines.) However, due to popular demand we will still have the “People’s Choice Award” as voted by symposium attendees. We continue to be overwhelmed with the quality of the posters that are presented. Some of the topics presented in 2007 included: “Electronic Trauma Charting”, “Resuscitation and Care of the Morbidly Obese Trauma Patient”, Education and Collaboration of the Pediatric Trauma Patient” and “Open Visitation in the SICU”

The primary presenter of the poster will receive paid admission to the 2-day trauma symposium. There will be a limited number of posters that will be accepted, so it is important to submit the application as soon as possible.

I have attached the information regarding the competition. It is also posted on www.traumanurse.info  Please feel free to pass this information on to the ICU/ ED/Surgery managers or anyone else in your institution that may be interested.
