(20 hrs/2yrs trauma-related for surgeons)

3. Has the provider participated in ongoing clinical involvement/quality improvement activity as evidenced by any of the following:

-trauma call rosters

-trauma teams

-attendance @ trauma rounds/trauma meetings   

 

 

 

 

 

4. Level I physician is included in review of high volume/high acuity procedures.  Reviews this year include: (Examples)

-complex airway management

-FAST utilization vs. DPL

-Vent protocol

-Damage control surgery utilization based on protocol.

 

 

 

 

 

5. Level II physician is included in review of specific outcome measurements based on frequency and acuity of procedures or other peer review measures pertinent to the facility patient volume.  Reviews this year include: (Examples)

-Chest tube insertion

-Non-op spleen/splenic salvage

-FAST utilization vs. DPL

-Complex airway management

-Wound infections
